What Changed From 1 July 2026?

The National Disability Insurance Agency completed its Annual Pricing Review and released the NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026–27.

The schedule lists support item numbers and the prices the NDIA considers appropriate and reasonable maximums. It also includes national, remote and very remote prices, support item units and pricing categories.

These maximums are not compulsory fees. Participants and providers can agree on a lower price. Providers must also discuss changes to existing service agreements, and the participant must agree before a new price is applied.

Many participants still search for the NDIS Price Guide 2026. The official document is now called the NDIS Pricing Schedule.

These are national maximum prices. Higher maximums apply to many supports delivered in remote and very remote areas. The NDIS Changes 2026 do not affect every support category in the same way.

1. Disability Support Worker Prices Have Changed

Prices connected to the Disability Support Worker Cost Model were updated for 2026–27. This affects services such as personal care, community participation, supported independent living, and support-worker hours linked to short-term accommodation.

The national maximum for Assistance with Self-Care Activities – Standard – Weekday Daytime is now $73.58 per hour. Evening, weekend, public holiday and high-intensity services have different maximums.

A higher limit does not automatically change your provider’s fee. Ask for the current rate, proposed rate, support item, start date and likely effect on your remaining hours.

2. Support Coordination Prices Remain Unchanged

The national NDIS Price Limits for Support Coordination remain:

  • Level 1 Support Connection: $80.06 per hour
  • Level 2 Coordination of Supports: $100.14 per hour
  • Level 3 Specialist Support Coordination: $190.54 per hour

3. Psychosocial Recovery Coaching Has an Updated Price

4. NDIS Plan Management Fees Remain the Same

The monthly NDIS Plan Management fee remains $104.45.

A plan manager processes invoices, tracks spending and provides budget statements. A Support Coordinator helps participants understand plans, connect with providers and resolve support-related barriers.

Review plan management statements for rates that do not match your agreement, unexpected travel charges, cancellation fees or unfamiliar support items.

5. Some Therapy Prices and Claiming Codes Have Changed

The updated NDIS Pricing Arrangements include revised prices and more specific therapy claiming codes. For example, the national maximum for a psychologist’s direct service is $252.99 per hour.

Invoices may now show separate items for direct services, telehealth, cancellations, provider travel, non-face-to-face work and NDIA-requested reports.

Check the item number, rate, service type and time charged. Ask the therapist or plan manager to explain anything unfamiliar.

6. Short Term Accommodation Costs Are More Clearly Separated

The 2026–27 schedule separates Short Term Accommodation support-worker assistance from accommodation costs.

The national maximum is $162.85 per day for participant accommodation and $162.85 per day for support-worker accommodation. Worker assistance is claimed separately according to the hours delivered, time, day, intensity and number of workers required.

Before booking, ask for a written breakdown of worker hours, accommodation, food, utilities and any higher-rate supports. This shows what may be claimed from your NDIS Funding.

How Could the Changes Affect My NDIS Funding?

The practical question is whether your remaining NDIS Funding can still cover the services and hours you expect to use.

For example, a $10,000 budget covers 100 hours at $100 per hour. At $105 per hour, it covers about 95 hours.

The effect is greater when you use several providers or pay extra for travel, cancellations, reports or higher-rate services. Compare the remaining balance with expected spending for the rest of the plan.

Can My Provider Automatically Increase the Price?

No. Under the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements, providers must discuss proposed changes to existing service agreements with participants. The participant must agree before the change is applied.

Before agreeing, ask:

  1. What is the current and proposed price?
  2. Which support item will be claimed?
  3. When will the new price begin?
  4. Will travel or cancellation charges change?
  5. How could it affect my remaining hours?

The NDIS Price Limits are the maximum prices the NDIA considers appropriate and reasonable. Under the NDIS Pricing Arrangements, they are not mandatory fees. You can ask whether a lower rate is available or compare other suitable services.

What Should Participants Check Now?

You do not need to read every line in the NDIS Price Guide 2026. Focus on your plan balance, provider price notices, service agreement clauses, current NDIS Price Limits, travel and cancellation terms, invoices and expected spending until the plan ends.

The NDIS Changes 2026 will affect participants differently. A simple monthly review can help identify invoice questions or possible overspending early.
